Transparency in marriage simply means being opened and truthful to one’s spouse in all circumstances.

This is what the Bible means in Genesis 2:25 “And they were both NAKED, the man and his wife, and were not ASHAMED.” In other words, if you’re not ready to be TRANSPARENT and TRUTHFUL to your partner, never get married.

Marriage will expose your strengths and weaknesses to your partner, whether you like it or not. Hence, the need for you to open up early in your relationship.

To be naked means to be open, that is, nothing is hidden. One of the things that will happen to you, in marriage is that the things that ARE HIDDEN IN THE SIGHT OF OUTSIDERS will be OPENED to the person you marry once you begin to live together.

Before you get married, there are important secrets you need to know about your partner. And there are important secrets that your partner must know about you too.

If you lie to him that you don’t have stretch marks, once you get married and you’re about to have sex, he will know. Also, if you lie to him that you’re a virgin, once he makes an attempt to have intercourse with you, after wedding, your lie will be detected.

Listen, sooner or later, your partner will get to find out an important secret about your life that you refuse to tell him/her. Because Luke 8:17 says, there is nothing HIDDEN that will not be DISCLOSED.

This is the principle of life. But once your partner knows about a secret you hid from him/her. He or she may never trust you again and this may lead to DIVORCE or total BREAK UP.

For instance, as a lady, if your womb is damaged, tell him before he agrees to marry you. If he finds out later that you deceived him, that may be the end of your relationship with him.

Why not open up early and save yourself of all the stigma and unfair treatment?

Lamentably, one of the side effects of not being truthful is that the marriage will never last.

Be sincere!
