PROVOKING AND SUSTAINING REVIVAL BY ENGAGING IN KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP – Bishop David Abioye

INTERNATIONAL MINISTERS’ FLAMING FIRE CONFERENCE 2021 – DAY 4 @ Dunamis International Gospel Center (DIGC), 26TH AUGUST 2021

Revival means to bring back to life something that is dead or dying
Revival can be defined as spiritual awakening
It is not everybody, particularly ministers, that is revived
There is a difference between being an orator and being an oracle
Spiritual awakening is evidenced by brokenness of heart and contriteness of spirit
Spiritual awakening is also evidenced by genuine repentance
Much of what is happening in the church today began at the altar
A sanctified altar will produce a sanctified congregation

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE IN A REVIVAL?

1. When your heart begins to pant after God and His Kingdom (Ps. 42:1; Matt. 6:33)
   When you wake up in the morning what is the first thing you think about?
   When you are panting after God, the first thing you think about when you wake up is God
   Don’t die for ministry, die for the pursuit of God
2. When you begin to take pleasure with the things of the Kingdom with all your resources
3. When you are consumed with undying passion, to see the unsaved saved (2Cor. 5:17-18; Hag. 1:5-14; 1Chron. 15:11-14)
   The moment you stop winning souls, you are already dying
   A revival is a move of the Spirit that stirs the spirit of men to commit to Kingdom advancement
   Call to ministry is call to work
   Ministry is business and business demands seriousness (Luke 2:49)
   If you don’t name sin you cannot tame sin
   Sin is a sinker, if you allow it, you will end under the waters
   Revivalists of old are labourers who do not live normal lives or keep normal schedules
   Don’t seek for rank; make your mark and your mark will give you your rank
   Revival time is work time!
   If you are not a runner, you can never make a mark
   Nothing works without somebody working it
   Taking breakfast before Sunday service is an aberration!
   Fire doesn’t come on lazy people, fire comes upon workers
   There is no General without a mark
   Any Gospel that tells you that you don’t have to work is a dead gospel
   Revival is tasking; it will cost you something to pay you something
   Revival is for those who are ready to drink the cup of suffering (Mark 10:35-40)
   Opportunity for people to mock you is opportunity for God to make you
   Revival is for those who are selfless and not reputation seeking (Phil. 2:5-9; John 3:30)
   Paul the apostle referred to a lot of ministry assignments as labour; it is necessity and not convenience
   Jesus laboured (Luke 4:42-44; John 9:4)
   Paul laboured (Phil. 1:21)
   Anything not done out of necessity is not labour
   If God does not call you to start a ministry, don’t venture into it
   If God does not call you to start a ministry, stay where you are
   Ministry is not about your number but about your function (1Cor. 7:20)

PLATFORMS FOR LABOUR THAT SUSTAIN REVIVAL:

1. Kingdom advancement prayer and fasting (2Cor. 11:27; Gal. 4:19; Col. 4:12)
   There cannot be revival without travail
   Every church that is in revival always has complaining neighbours
   Only groaning churches will end up as growing churches
   You must give yourself to fervent prayer; you can’t pray a baby prayer and expect adult results
   Only those who take it hard will fly high
2. Soul winning, Soul establishment and Soul in-gathering (Luke 14:23; Matt. 6:33)
   You can’t sit down in the church expecting people to come in; compel them to come (Luke 14:23)
   Church on mission is church that will live forever
   Do what you see us do and you will see the wonders we see in our lives
   Bend your back to work and God will raise you up to lead
   Without a stretch there cannot be a spread (Luke 12:49-50)

PRAYERS:
Father, I ask for the baptism of labour; I ask for grace to spread so that I can stretch

Father, give me the body that will sustain the assignment You have given to me; I receive the baptism to stretch in order to spread, in Jesus’ Name. (Luke 12:49-50)

Father, anything tampering with revival in my life, burn them off right now, in Jesus’ Name.

Father, I receive a fresh baptism of the energy to labour in ministry, in Jesus Name.

Father, kill lethargy, procrastination and laziness from my life so that I can labour, in Jesus Name.

Father, I receive the baptism to labour correctly, in Jesus Name.

Father, I ask that You deliver me from being an executive Christian; help me to labour, in Jesus Name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

• You will leave here with fresh fire!
• Every good thing you see happening here will be practically duplicated in your nation!
• Receive the grace to labour in ministry
• Every spirit of slumber, laziness and procrastination is destroyed right now!
• May God inoculate you tonight with the unction to labour
